Linden Lanes is a community shopping centre in the heart of the suburb Linden, Johannesburg, consisting of approx. 2000sqm of retail space and 1000 sqm of office space. The centre opened in July of 2022. The original property was deemed to have heritage value and had to remain, although derelict and neglected. Opposite Linden Hoërskool and around the corner of Louw Geldenhuys Laerskool, on a suburban main artery, the property had enormous potential. The unique scale of the development is complemented by the character of the original buildings – it feels quant, and in scale with the surroundings it’s serving.

JLDesign was the appointed architects of the development and Christelle, during her time at JLD was the project architect assigned to the project. Her responsibilities included concept design, design development, contract documentation and detailing, and local authority approval.
